We have all been there before, laying on the ground soaked in sweat and our bones aching from just getting thrown onto the ground again by our opponent. However, with one fleeting through we truly appreciate that we have a soft mat to land on. Then we drag ourselves back up off the ground and leave that though behind. Well if that soft martial arts mat wasn't there you might have not been able to get back up. Its something we all take for granted but is truly one of the most important pieces of equipment in a martial arts training facility.
2 Kinds of Martial Arts Mats
Heavyweight MMA Mat - these mats are 2 inches thick and no other mat can compete on quality,
safety, durability, or performance. This martial arts mats are
designed for the professional MMA or fight school that requires the
ultimate protection from high falls, slams, and throws; yet, is firm
enough for stand-up martial arts training. It eliminates the need for a
sub-floor as the added protection is built right into the mat. They are usually available
in the typical Gray, Blue, Red, Black and Red.
Standard Martial Arts Training Mats are identical
to their heavyweight counterpart with the exception of being a 1/2" thinner providing with a little less protection. The 1.5" standard martial arts mats are specifically designed for MMA type training, meaning with “No-Gi”
Grappling, Jiu-Jitsu, and also Law Enforcement Training. These mats are typically available in Gray, Blue, Red and Black.
